The Engineering apprenticeship programme provides you with an exciting and challenging opportunity to achieve formal qualifications through extensive practical on-the-job training, as well as in college study, while in full-time employment.

As part of this unique and varied role of Apprentice Controls Engineer, the successful candidate will be trained in all aspects of engineering work that the company undertakes as specialist providers of automation and control systems for the feed and grain industry in the UK and abroad.

This will include the following:

• Control system design and configuration

• Site installation and commissioning

• Documentation

• Customer support and training

In light of these duties, the control system and design activities work will normally be in our office at Adbolton Hall, Adbolton Lane, West Bridgford, but to carry out the site installation elements of the training and role the successful candidate will be regularly required to work at customer sites in the UK and sometimes abroad.

• Applicants will need to demonstrate a real interest in and passion for electronic engineering through either prior learning or personal activities.
• Applicants will need to demonstrate a commitment to working as part of a team and a flexible, positive can do attitude.
• Driver/soon to achieve a licence and own vehicle required. Excellent rate for mileage (45p per mile) but they will be required to have business insurance.
• Candidate will need to be aged 18 or over due to insurance and supervisory requirements of the role.

Additional information: The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices £3.70 per hour, rising to £3.90 on 1 April 2019. This applies to 16-18-year-old apprentices and those aged over 18 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.

Pay may be increased periodically through the achievement of targets and incentive schemes.

The applicants will be required to have or be working towards achieving their full drivers licence within 6 months, as use of own vehicle will be critical to the role which will require travel throughout the UK as the apprentice progresses. They will be required to have business insurance on the vehicle. Candidate will need to be aged 18 or over due to insurance and supervisory requirements of the role.
