Nottingham College are looking for an administration apprentice to provide administrative support for the Adult Employability Faculty.

The Adult Employability Faculty enables adults across Nottingham to engage in learning to upskill and enhance their life opportunities. The key areas within the faculty include:

• ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)- across multiple college sites and within the community

• Community Learning - short courses within the community alongside accredited courses within local schools

• Employment Skills - Functional Skills which include Maths, English and ICT as well as employability courses

The Role:

Nottingham College are looking for an administration apprentice to provide administrative support for the Adult Employability Faculty.

• Communicating with managers, tutors and support services over the phone, by email or face-to-face

• Taking student and employers enquiries, giving them information, liaising with the team as needed

• Data-inputting of student details, & regularly up-dating their information, to track their needs & progress

• Referring students to learning that best matches their needs, making appointments by phone, email, letter &/or face-to-face

• Data-inputting and organising to support the team with key performance indicators

• Updating information e.g., course opportunities, information sheets

• Administrative tasks, e.g., word-processing of letters, filing, photocopying, archiving, checking supplies for re-ordering, supporting Senior Faculty Administrators in the day to day running of the faculty

• Supporting the team with meetings, e.g., listing attendees, taking notes, writing up actions

• Preparing materials to distribute to organisations, or for marketing & outreach events, e.g., displays, packing leaflets & publicity materials in envelopes

Corporate Responsibilities

• To contribute to the strategic direction and operational effectiveness of the College

• Ensure the responsibilities of the post are carried out in a way that reflects the standards, vision and values of the college

• Deliver on key performance indicators across the College, aiming to deliver continuous improvement

• Promote the College with employers, sector bodies, schools and the local community, developing

effective partnerships with employers, the funding agencies and other representative bodies

• To proactively promote Safeguarding practice, EDI and Health and Safety

Further information: The post holder will be able to demonstrate strong organisational and team working skills. They will have a good general knowledge of ICT packages and demonstrate a good level of spoken and written literacy.

The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.70 per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.

Please note that anyone under the age of 18 can only work a maximum of 40 hours per week. Any role which exceeds these hours on advert will be amended accordingly to fall in line with the legislation
